HTC released preliminary financial reports for the month of June and the whole second quarter. Those are incomplete, unaudited numbers, the full report will come later on, but this is enough to let us know what to expect.
Q2 of this year seemed to be going well for HTC with growth in revenue and nearly matching last year's performance in May. June proved to be a disappointment though – revenue dropped compared to May and was down 26.4% compared to June last year
Total revenue for Q2 which ends in June was $2.36 billion, with earnings per share of $0.05, and operating profit of $34.9 million and $41.6 million net income. This is in line with the $2.3 billion in revenue forecast for Q2, but analysts were expecting $67.2 million in net profits.
The numbers for Q1 this year were $1.42 billion revenue and $2.8 million net income, for Q2 last year it was $4.1 billion revenue and $246.3 million in net income.
